Philippines ravaged by Typhoon Rai (Odette): December 14 to 18, 2021

A week before Christmas, Typhoon Rai (locally known as Odette) wreaked havoc and made a total of nine (9) landfalls within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). PAGASA raised Tropical Cyclone Warning System signal # 4 over Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte, including Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands. Odette caused massive damage to infrastructure and agriculture, leaving 397 casualties and a total of PHP 22.1B worth of reported damage.
